The Problem

Smiths Detection X-ray scanners at the Soekarno-Hatta export-import checkpoint had no built-in way to extract scan images digitally. Operators recorded shipment data by hand, which created bottlenecks and errors in reporting to Bea Cukai's CEISA API.

What I Built

As the Full-Stack and IoT/Hardware Engineer I built the Electron, React and TypeScript application that runs on a Raspberry Pi, capturing X-ray monitor frames, detecting cargo via bounding boxes and auto-filling shipping forms. The biggest challenge was optimising the whole application to run smoothly on that hardware, while also physically designing and assembling the device unit for real airport deployment.
